The University of Texas: A Lone Star Powerhouse

The Texas Longhorns stand as one of college football's original blue-blood programs. With their iconic burnt orange colors and "Hook 'em Horns" hand signal, the Longhorns represent a state powerhouse with a rich history of legendary coaches and transcendent players.

Legendary coach Darrell K Royal forged the program's identity as a national force. He led the Longhorns to three national championships and popularized the unstoppable Wishbone offense in the 1960s and 70s.

The program also produced some of the most iconic running backs in history, as Earl Campbell and Ricky Williams both ran their way to the Heisman Trophy.

In the 2000s, coach Mack Brown revitalized the program, and quarterback Vince Young delivered one of the greatest performances in sports history when he led Texas over USC to win the 2005 national championship.

From the fierce Red River Showdown against Oklahoma to their multiple championship eras, the Longhorns' tradition cements their place as royalty in college football history. 🏈
